A Roundup of Superbowl XLVII Commercials
In between the Superdome power outage, Beyonce's killer performance, and oh yeah, that nail-biting football game, I noticed an abundance of farm and dairy-themed commercials last Sunday night. Some were funny, some were powerful, and some were just downright weird. Watch all the advertisements below, and let us know which one was your favorite!
Pepsi Next: Party
While not explicitly dairy-themed, this Pepsi ad features the odd trend of "milking," when individuals pour a gallon of milk over their head in a public or crowded space. Watch for the weird antic at the end of the commercial.
Doritos: Goats 4 Sale
A pet goat is the star of this 30-second commercial, who subsequently becomes addicted to Doritos and terrifies his owner. Moral of the story: goats shouldn't eat junk food either. But we knew that. Right? Right.
Superstar wrestler and actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stars in this epic ad for the iconic "Got Milk?" campaign. While we've never seen a morning this intense, we also don't have a superhero nickname.
Dodge Ram Trucks: God Made a Farmer
A voice recording of popular radio commentator Paul Harvey was used to narrate this lengthy, 2-minute commercial for Dodge. Stark photography of weathered faces, rural landscapes, and animals made this ad a standout in contrast to the rest of the loud, animated shorts that filled time between game broadcasts.
Yup, I'll admit it: this commercial made me cry. Budweiser's one-minute narrative about a man and his horse is sure to tug on your heartstrings if you have children, parents...a soul…even if you hate Budweiser. HE JUST LOVES THIS HORSE SO MUCH, GUYS.
And please, if I've missed anything, let me know and post it in the comments!
