Santa Barbara Fermentation Festival

The Santa Barbara Fermentation Festival is produced by Cultivate Events and showcases local and regional experts on the history, benefits and how-tos of fermented foods. This all-ages experiential one-day festival celebrates the art of making traditionally fermented foods and beverages such as kimchi, kombucha, kefir, pickles, beer, sauerkraut, wine, cider, cultured vegetables, and sourdough bread, and empowers attendees to make these foods at home.  

2014 Theme: Science of the Gut

The 2014 Santa Barbara Fermentation Festival offers an array of talks, hands-on demonstrations, a DIY Pickle Station, a Bacteria Buddy Passport Program for the kids, and a Farm-to-Bar Happy Hour. Not to mention dozens of fermented food and beverage artisans, supplies and educators.

Whether you come for the festival, the farm-to-bar happy hour, or the whole shebang, make sure to stop by our festival stages, the Pickled Pavilion, the Fermentation Station and the Farm-to-Bar Grandstand, and listen in on some of the amazing talks we have lined up.

2014 Festival Schedule

10am – 4pm: Festival

4pm – 6pm: 21+ Farm-to-Bar Happy Hour featuring traditional alcohol ferments and wood fired sourdough pizzas by The Lucky Penny
