Hate it or love it, the people of St. Louis aren't ashamed of their processed cheese. Provel has a swarm of admirers who adore its tangy flavor. Citydwellers get their fix at Imo's, where they serve the cheese on pizzas and salad. The packaged Provel is recognized as a regional specialty.
With 30 Rock off the air, Judah Friedlander has time to indulge other interests. Like processed cheese. Friedlander, who played Frank on the sitcom (the guy with all the custom baseball caps), says he's been "obsessed" for the past several years with Provel, a processed blend of Swiss, provolone or cheddar rarely found outside its hometown of St. Louis.
