French Cheese for China
Liu Yang of China is bringing authentic, French-style cheese to the streets of Beijing with his cheese shop Le Fromager de Pekin. Currently, the most popular dairy products in China are processed yogurts and pasteurized milk, but Yang is determined to broaden the palate of his clientele.
His market is growing. As China becomes more affluent, palates have gotten more sophisticated. The amount of French cheese imported into China has grown 340 percent over the past five years.
