The Nutmegger Cheese and Wine Festival
Join the inaugural Nutmegger Cheese and Wine Festival, a fundraiser to protect Connecticut's farmland and to support quality childhood nutrition. This Festival and fundraiser will feature some of the very best of Connecticut’s Cheese, wine, ice cream, and artisanal breads, wine from esteemed esteemed artisans, and a wide variety of delights to sample. This special event will be held on Sunday, September 23 from noon-4 p.m. at the historic and beautiful Jones Family Farms located at 120 Beardsley Road in Shelton, Connecticut. Also featurng a series of “cheese talks,” live music with Ken Coulson & Gatsby’s Green Light, hay rides, vineyard tours, a corn maze, a silent auction, and more!!!
Tickets purchased in advance are $50 for adults and $10 for children ages 6-12. Tickets sold at the Festival are $55 for adults and $10 for children. Tickets are limited so buy your tickets in advance! Proceeds will support the Working Lands Alliance as well as the Valley Initiative to Advance Health & Learning in Schools (VITAHLS) Program, collaboration between Griffin Hospital and the Valley School Districts of Shelton, Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, and Seymour to develop, implement, evaluate, and sustain a valley wide program to reduce prevalence of obesity in students in grades pre-K-12.

I just love the name of this Festival. Just when I thought it couldn't get better than cheese, wine and bread, it did. Ice cream will do it for me! I'm betting this goes from an inaugural to an annual! Rosalie Newman
