From Pride-filled streets to the Fancy Food Show, if you were in New York this weekend, you were winning.
But it wasn’t just participants and attendees that got to celebrate—there were some actual awards handed out, too! At the Fancy Food Show, the largest specialty food trade event in North America, the sofi awards were announced. “sofi” stands for specialty outstanding food innovation, representing “the best of the best in specialty food and beverages.”
Products are judged on Quality, Innovation, Ingredient Profile, Packaging, and Pricing. This year winners were selected from over 2,700 entries across 32 awards categories, but we here at culture are celebrating the big wins for dairy in particular:
Cheese: Bay Blue by Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company
Classic: Cultured Butter and Sea Salt Basket by Vermont Creamery
Confection: Goat Milk Chai Caramels and New Product: Rhubarb Goat Milk Caramels by Big Picture Farm
Dairy or Dairy Alternative: Blackberry Sheep Milk Yogurt by Bellwether Farms
Product Line: Goat’s Milk Caramel by Fat Toad Farm
Dessert Sauces, Toppings, Syrup: Salted Caramel Sauce by Coop’s Microcreamery
Keep the party going! Go out and eat the winners! (Not the winners themselves of course—the products, the products…)
