French Rove Goats and Buchette de Manon

Rove goats from Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, France in the milking barn of Francois and Vanessa Masto

Tucked away in the rolling hills of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region in France, you’ll find farmhouse cheesemakers Francois and Vanessa Masto and their small herd of Rove goats – a breed commonly found in this area and known for their long, lyre-like horns. The incredibly rich milk from the goats is used to make Buchette de Manon cheese. Cheesemonger and Channel Cheese host Alison Brien spends a day learning about this farmstead process.
