It was only a matter of time before someone turned the world’s biggest music star into a 45-pound cheese sculpture.
Of course, we’re talking about Beyoncé and her cheesy effigy with the best name ever: Brie-oncé.
Created for this weekend’s E20 Cheese and Wine Festival in London, the work of art is inspired by Queen Bey’s Internet-breaking image from February, when she announced on Instagram that she’s expecting twins with Jay Z.
Artist David Bradley collaborated with ad agency The Robin Collective and food sculptor Jacqui Kelly. It took 28 hours and 45 pounds of cheddar to craft this carving, and we have to say, it looks pretty gouda.
In a CNN.com article, creative director Brandy Klingelpuss reveals many cheese pun-ny names were considered, but “Brie-oncé” prevailed.
“We talked about putting Babybel in the stomach, but it never actually happened,” Klingelpuss says.
Brie-oncé will be on display at the festival’s Cheese Carving Competition on Saturday. Bradley himself will be there competing against two other sculptors for the title of Cheese Carving Champion.
