The popular Tumblr Sad Desk Lunch has brought the plight of office workers to the forefront of American media: how can you make a delicious, warm, and filling lunch without the use of a full kitchen? Thankfully, mad food scientist Dave Arnold is on the case, showing how to make from-scratch nachos at work. While you may not have every piece of equipment required, you’re sure to pick up some tips for a more enjoyable lunch hour.

It’s bad enough to watch someone soldier through a raw kale salad while gazing at a monitor with glazed, dead eyes. But when we saw Complex Deputy Editor Ross Scarano making nachos in the microwave and bringing them back to his desk, we couldn’t take it anymore. We had to intervene.
