Sargento Recall Due to Possible Listeria Contamination


Recalled Sargento products

Check your fridges: Sargento has recalled its Ultra Thin Sliced Longhorn Colby and Chef Blends Shredded Nacho & Taco Cheese products over concerns of a potential listeria contamination. Affected Longhorn Colby packages have “sell by” dates of April 12 and May 10, 2017, while recalled Shredded Nacho & Taco Cheese products have “sell by” dates of June 14 and July 12, 2017. 

Deutsch Kase Haus, LLC, who supplied the Longhorn Colby to Sargento, notified the company of the possible contamination. Sargento says no illnesses have been reported so far. 

The Wisconsin-based cheesemaker is also recalling the following products out of caution since they were packaged on the same line as the Longhorn Colby: Sliced Colby Jack, Sliced Pepper Jack, Chef Blends Shredded Taco Cheese, Off the Block Shredded Fine Cut Colby Jack, and Off the Block Shredded Fine Cut Cheddar Jack.
