Slate is both a strikingly natural and practical vehicle for cheese display. This model comes equipped with a special soapstone pencil to write on the slate, so the stone works as a labeling surface for the cheeses as well as a serving piece. The board is furnished with a felt backing for grip and to prevent scratching on wood or glass tables. It can be wiped clean with a damp sponge.
