Range Thermometer

Whether or not you’re in the house, keep track of cooking temps with thermometers that connect directly to your smartphone. Initially funded by Kickstarter and newly available this spring is Range, a thermometer that not only measures temperature, but also gives alerts on your phone or tablet to let you know when food is close to done (for over-the-top cuteness, choose a sound effect like a crowing rooster as the alert for a roast chicken). If you’re an uber-geek (like us here at culture), you can save temperature graphs from particularly good or bad dinners to compare data and improve your cooking over time.
