Here’s how to get one in time for Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day has long been ruled by red roses and heart-shaped boxes of chocolate, but let’s be honest: they’ve started to feel a little predictable. This year, something richer, more expressive, and more delicious is taking the spotlight: Cheese.
According to research commissioned by Wisconsin Cheese, Americans say they’re over the usual Valentine’s gifts. What folks really want is something personal, shareable, and savory; in fact, 66% of respondents said cheese is their love language and 64% would happily ditch flowers for wedges.
Launching on National Cheese Lover’s Day (Jan. 20), Wisconsin Cheese’s Wedges of Love is a limited-edition cheese collection featuring nine award-winning Wisconsin cheeses, artfully arranged to resemble a bouquet and presented in packaging resembling a flower box for the ultimate surprise factor. Each box also has stainless steel cheese knives, pairing and recipe guidance, and a personalized poem.
The bouquet includes nine artisan cheeses crafted by Wisconsin cheesemakers, spanning classics, blues, and different flavors:
It’s a lineup best paired with wine, accompaniments, and candlelight for the perfect cheese-themed date. “In Wisconsin, when we care about something, we put everything into it,” says Suzanne Fanning, the chief marketing officer for Wisconsin Cheese. “Designed to rival the drama of flowers and the indulgence of fine chocolate, Wedges of Love celebrates Wisconsin’s unmatched cheesemaking heritage, obsessive craftsmanship, and unapologetic love for doing cheese better than anywhere else on earth.”
A limited number of Wedges of Love boxes are available starting Jan. 20, with additional chances to secure one through Feb. 8, while supplies last. Each box is priced at $100 with free shipping and can be ordered for delivery by Valentine’s Day.
