Comté Cheese Association Updates Aroma Wheel

There are a lot of flavors in one of the world’s most popular cheeses. Check out Comté’s brand new flavor wheel below, which includes 83 common descriptors for Comté grouped by six families (Lactic, Fruity, Vegetal, Roasted, Animal, and Spicy). Use this wheel to identify flavors (and more importantly, cheeses) you enjoy.

Tasting is subjective, and the aromas evolve/vary with Comté’s terroir, season of production and length of time aging in the cellars. These families of aromas might help you to choose the style of Comté that you prefer. And, of course, the best Comté is the one that tastes best to you! Let’s taste and discover your favorite!
