Meat and Cheese for Lunch

The best workday lunches are those that feel luxurious, full of good cheese, flavorful charcuterie, hunks of crusty bread, and perhaps a bit of wine. But did you ever think you can recreate this right at your office desk (well, maybe not the wine part depending on your office)? Think about it: cured meats and cheeses were made for travel, even “travel” only means your half-hour commute. If you’re going to bring lunch, it might as well be an awesome lunch, right? Props to Food52 for originally broadcasting this idea.

Scrounge around in your fridge for some cured meats, cheese, and a few hunks of bread. Or, if you want to be extra thrifty, wait until you have an office party and then re-vamp the meat-and-cheese plate leftovers. Pick up a tart green apple and a bottle of bubbly (water, that is) from the corner store to round it all out. Voilà! You’ve got a spread fit for a picnic.
