A New Take on Cheesy Biscuits

Biscuits are fluffy, crispy, and flaky — they make a great addition to any meal. Slide a fried egg and cheddar cheese in one and you’ve got yourself a breakfast sandwich. Use them as the bread for any sandwich and you can make a decadent lunch. And warm biscuits with butter are always a delicious accompaniment with dinner. Add cheese in the biscuit recipe? You’ve got a snack that’s almost too good to be true.

August is National Goat Cheese Month–what better way to celebrate it than with biscuits made with fresh, creamy cheese and yogurtBlogHer says of this recipe: “Goat cheese biscuits are more on the savory side, making these biscuits not only great for breakfast, but the perfect addition to your dinner table.”

If you like biscuits made with yogurt, check out these from Food52. They don’t require a recipe, are extremely easy to make, and are made with thick Greek yogurt and cheese. Craving something simpler? These cheesy biscuits (also from Food52) are simply delicious, and made with sharp cheddar cheese

Or maybe you want to be daring. If you have a more adventurous palate, try these Blue Cheese Biscuits with Pinot Noir Butter (yes, you read that right). Our cheese suggestions: use Gorgonzola Dolce for a milder blue cheese taste, or Baraboo Blue if you’re looking for a more bold and assertive flavor. Either way, these biscuits are sure to indulge your senses. Bring them to your next cocktail party, or simply bake them as an excuse to drink red wine during the day — we won’t tell anyone!
