Uniekaas to Become Best Cheese Global in Sale

Melkbus

Dutch cheese producer Uniekaas B.V. has sold its aging, packaging, and wrapping facilities in the Netherlands to Germany’s largest dairy cooperative, DOC Dairy Partners B.V.

Under the deal’s terms, Uniekaas B.V. will now go by Best Cheese Global Inc. Products including Parrano, Tjiezi, and Hollandse-branded cheeses, Melkbus crafted farmstead cheeses, vintage Goudas, and Coach Farm goat cheese will remain under the Best Cheese Global umbrella. According to DairyReporter, Uniekaas-branded items will be produced by DOC Dairy Partners B.V.

Uniekaas B.V. owners Willem Jan Rote and Paul Wilde plan to focus its newly branded company in Asia, Europe, and North America. “The sale of this part of our business will expand the Best Cheese Global capability to invest in our key brands and markets going forward,” Rote and Wilde said in a press release. “We are excited to further expand our Parrano and Tjiezi brands across the globe as well as our overall business presence in Europe, Asia and North America.”

Meanwhile, Best Cheese Corporation will remain as the US subsidiary of Best Cheese Global. It will continue to emphasize sourcing top-quality cheeses from the Netherlands and producing chèvre at upstate New York-based Coach Farm.
