Rum Old Fashioned

Rum Old Fashioned
Brawny, aged styles of run boast a complexity that results from maturation in oak. A sweeter dark rum adds a solid base note and suppleness to the rum old fashioned cocktail.
  1. 1 teaspoon simple syrup
  2. 4 dashes Angostura bitters
  3. 2 orange slices
  4. 2 maraschino cherries
  5. 2 ounces dark rum
  1. In a double rocks glass, add simple syrup, bitters, one orange slice, and one cherry. Muddle. Add rum and ice and stir well. Garnish with the remaining orange slice and cherry.
