It’s Alive!

I was still awake at 2:00 a.m. last night (this morning?). For some people this isn’t unusual. In fact, I was surprised at how many folks were still on gChat or Facebook at that hour. Me, I’m a morning person: Early to bed, early to rise. I haven’t been awake at 2:00 a.m. in years. Not if you don’t count getting up to refill my water glass or answering misdirected calls from California area codes. But last night was different?

Why? Because I was launching a website. This website!

Hopefully you’ve noticed that things look a bit different around here. Since November of last year, we’ve been slowly but surely putting together a new website. We built a framework, loaded content, created some super-special coding to support our Cheese Shop Locator and our Cheese Library, loaded more content, and then even more. The result is the lovely new site that we switched over to in the wee hours of the morning.

There are still some things to be accomplished. Some of our blog posts and articles now boast publish dates from when they were transferred, not when they were actually written and posted. Some of our image link broke and are now little fractured blue squares. And homepage’s carousel can be flipped through, but doesn’t yet rotate on its own. But never fear, things are moving apace to make this the best cheese-centric website of all time be week’s end! Our content will be pristine, our images will be glorious, and our carousel will spin like Julia Lipnitskaya at the Sochi Olympics.

And me? Well, once the website is done and the coffee runs out there’s only one thing to do: sleep.
