Make Golden Gate the star of your next party. Made by Marin French Cheese Co., Golden Gate is a complex and decadent triple crème, washed-rind cheese bursting with creamy umami flavors. We crafted two cocktails (one non-alcoholic) to pair with this California original. An apple butter Old Fashioned and a non-alcoholic Ginger Fizz. Both autumnal-themed libations are sweet and spicy and pair perfectly with the pungent and savory flavors of Golden Gate.
With Golden Gate you get the best of both worlds. Since it is a triple crème, cream is added to the milk during the cheese making process to create a richer flavor and texture. Then, during the 15-day aging process, each wheel is hand washed four times with brine to lock in moisture and create a strong earthy flavor.
Made in small batches with high-quality milk from local farms, Golden Gate gets its striking golden hue from Brevibacterium linens cultures, a unique culture naturally present in California’s coastal air. The result is a true sense of terroir unique to the California coast.
