Obicà began a decade ago, touted as the world’s first mozzarella bar. Named for a Sicilian expression meaning “here it is,” the restaurant boasts a clean design inspired by traditional sushi bars, with the buffalo mozzarella-centric menu prepared in an open kitchen in full view of the dining room. Their self-titled cookbook (Rizzoli, Nov. 2014; $35) is full of unfussy antipasti, pasta, pizza, and dessert recipes, each paired with a stunning photo of the finished dish. If you can’t visit one of their five worldwide locations, try your hand at these traditional Italian recipes presented in a contemporary way. Delizioso!
