Celebrate Summer with Seasonally Inspired Cambozola Pairings

Cambozola Pairing

It’s officially summer, and what better way to celebrate the season than enjoying a delicious cheeseboard amongst family and friends. If you’re looking for a unique, crowd-pleasing cheese, look no further than the iconic Cambozola.

Over the last 40 years Cambozola has become a staple at cheese counters across America, and it’s not hard to see why. The original Cambozola was a pioneer in the triple-cream, soft-ripened blue category, combining the rich creaminess of a brie with the mildly piquant notes of blue cheese. The result is a mellow, approachable blue perfect for blue cheese lovers and novices alike.

In 2013, Käserei Champignon introduced Cambozola Black Label, the bolder, more refined cousin of Cambozola. This reserve version is aged longer and at a colder temperature than classic Cambozola, resulting in pillowy soft creaminess and bold complexity.

The year it was released, Cambozola Black Label won the coveted “Supreme Champion” at the World Cheese Awards, and has continued to receive many accolades since. In 2020 both Cambozola and Cambozola Black Label won first and second place at the World Cheese Championship in the category of Blue Cheese with exterior molding.

Cambozola is made in the Allgäu region of Bavaria, with milk primarily from Swiss Brown cows. Both versions of Cambozola are naturally lactose free, gluten free, and vegetarian, which in addition to their craveable flavors, makes them versatile options for entertaining.
