Servings 1

  • 2 slices Iggy's seven-grain bread
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter softened
  • 1 tablespoon pear apple jam
  • 2 ounces Vermont Cheddar cheese such as Grafton Village
  • 1 thick slice of country ham

  • Spread one side of each bread slice with softened butter. Spread the other side of the bread slices with the pear apple jam.
  • Slice the cheese thinly and stack half of it onto the jam-smeared side of one of the bread slices. Stack the country ham on top of the cheese and pile the remaining cheese onto the ham. Cap with the remaining slice of bread, butter-side up.
  • Grill the sandwich for 2-3 minutes on each side, until the bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.
